Kernewek Creative Family Day
Come and spend a day discovering Kernewek through film, creativity, games and conversation at St Endellion.
10am–12pm | The Highway Rat in Kernewek + Creative Workshop
FREE | Please book a free ticket
We’ll start the day with a screening of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved The Highway Rat – in Kernewek (Cornish), with English subtitles.
If you’re a Julia Donaldson fan, there’s a good chance you already know the story off by heart! Hearing a familiar favourite in a different language is a brilliant way for children and grown-ups alike to experience and enjoy Kernewek.
Our fabulous artist Katy will be getting creative alongside the screening too.
The greedy Highway Rat has been stealing everyone’s food and leaving the other animals hungry – so we’re going to put things right! Using recycled materials, we’ll create a magnificent feast for all those hungry characters. What delicious things will you add to the table?
After the morning session, bring a picnic and go for a walk, or head over to Trevathan Farm for some lunch, before coming back to St Endellion for our afternoon session.
2pm | Prag na? Why not?
FREE | Please book a free ticket
Come back at 2pm and spend the afternoon with Kowethas.
Prag na? Why not? Come along and learn some simple phrases in Kernewek / Cornish and perhaps play a game or two to practise them.
It’s suitable for all ages and abilities – you don’t need to know any Cornish already, and you don’t have to have joined us in the morning.
We’ll have drinks available and plenty of opportunities to hear, try and enjoy Kernewek together.
Join us for the whole day, or just come along for the afternoon – simply grab a ticket for the session(s) you’d like to attend.
