For Artists
Programming
If you would like to present your work at Endelienta Arts then please read our programming policy below, if you think you’d be a good fit for Endelienta Arts or would like to propose something that you think we would be interested in then please get in touch with our Artistic Director Plum Grosvenor-Stevenson on plum@endelienta.org.uk.
We aim to get back in touch with everyone who submits a proposal to us however it may take up to 4 weeks to do so. Please note that we programme 6 – 12 months in advance and are unlikely to consider anything with less than 6 months lead in time.
Music Programming Policy Endelienta Arts presents a range of visiting work at St Endellion Church, St Endellion Hall, and other venues across North Cornwall.
Concerts
Concerts are programmed on a rolling basis usually 6-12 months in advance. The concert programme is created by Endelienta Art’s programming group who meet every two months. This group consists of staff members alongside community members who are committed to creating diverse programmes of work to present in North Cornwall. Except in rare circumstances, including last minute cancellations, the Artistic Director / General Manager is not able to programme concerts without the prior agreement of the programming group.
We have a set criteria/objectives that we assess all submissions against. These are: Audience Development, Artistic Quality, Creative Case for Diversity, Emerging Artists Development and Sales Opportunities. Each event programmed must meet at least one of these criteria. We do not have a rigid artistic policy and are open to all suggestions.
Residencies
We run a series of paid residencies for artists at different stage of their careers. They are an opportunity to develop your creative practice and grow as an artist. We understand how difficult it can be finding time to develop new work, particularly early in a career, and are dedicated to supporting artists with paid time to focus entirely on their art. Each residency involves spending time staying in the Glebe Farmhouse with two to three other artists. This has led to some beautiful work by previous residents and the support of emerging and established artists from across the UK including Deborah Westmancoat, Alex Groves, Olivia Lowry and more.
We also support groups to come on residency with us, whether through hiring our spaces directly or a paid residency to develop new work. A recent example of this is the development of the Breselor Ensemble working on new work in the Cornish Language, who with support from us during a residency won the Grand Bard’s Medal for service to Cornish Culture.
Cornish Language Residencies We run an annual Cornish Language Residency in partnership with Lowender and Cornwall Council. On this, artists who want to work in the Cornish Language spend each morning learning the language with experts and then each afternoon working on developing new works using Kernewek at the heart. To date the residencies have produced 16 original songs in Cornish, one long form poem and have been the catalyst for the further development of music and poetry in Cornish.
