Three Church Fathers and a Heretic, 2nd March
Next, an exploration of the British theologian and early Celtic Christian Pelagius, author of “The Defence of Free Will”. Pelagius’ ideas on free will eventually led him to clash with Augustine of Hippo, who developed his doctrine of original sin in response. This session explores Pelagius’ views in relation to three of his contemporaries: Ambrose, Jerome and Augustine. If you’re interested in early Christianity and theological discussion this day, led by Andrew Lewis, is one for you.
